Restylane
Restylane is a safe and
natural cosmetic dermal
filler that restores volume
and fullness to the skin to
correct facial wrinkles and
folds. Common areas to
inject are laugh lines, lips
for a natural fuller effect,
vertical upper-lip lines,
marionette lines, corners of
the lips to reverse sagging,
and deep frown lines.
There is virtually no down
time with Restylane
injections and one can
resume work or normal
activities immediately. The
procedure is simple and
convenient and results are
practically instantaneous.
Restylane has been used
safely worldwide since 1996.
Restylane is made of
non-animal-based hyaluronic
acid, which is a natural
sugar found in the skin. As
it is a natural substance
found in the human body,
there is virtually no risk
of animal-based disease
transmission or allergic
reaction and therefore no
pre-testing is required. The
advantage it has over
collagen injections it that
it may last twice as long
(six to nine months).
The most commonly reported
side effects are temporary
redness and swelling at
injection sites, which
typically resolves in two to
three days. It is best to
avoid using aspirin,
non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory
medications, St. John's Wort,
or high-dose vitamin
supplements prior to
treatment because these may
increase bruising.

Botox®
Botox has been approved by
the FDA and is very
effective at removing fine
lines on the forehead, the
eyes and around the mouth.
Although not a permanent
solution for wrinkles, BOTOX
usually last from 4 to 6
months and can produce
results that can be seen in
as little as 48hrs.
FDA approved for candidates
between the ages of 18-65.
It is also is an excellent
treatment for patients who
suffer from TMJ, by forcing
the muscles to relax. The
procedure only takes minutes
with results that will last
up to four months. Results
are noticeable within as
little as 2 days. Another
bonus, it is non-surgical,
no anesthesia, little
discomfort, and is one of
the most common/sought after
cosmetic procedures.
In 2002, the FDA approved
the use of Botox for
cosmetic uses to temporarily
reduce facial wrinkles.
Since that time Botox has
received a great deal of
publicity. Botox, however,
has been an FDA approved
treatment for muscle
disorders of the eye since
1989.
